Nice one, just what I wanted to know! Only thing missing is the replacing of the separator image (sidesep.gif). Maybe you want to add that too just to complete your tutorial (and help n00b theme hackers like).

I agree with you that ad-block and no-script are very useful but not 100% clean. Awareness is the only known method to mitigate the black hats.

Flash cookies are relatively unknown to web users, and they are not controlled through the cookie privacy controls in a browser.

People should be aware of whats going on through out the web. Ignorance is not an excuse anymore. Flash cookies an other sneaky tracking elements have been used for ages, why do you think most of us in the know use ad-block and no-script. I can’t say for certain they block 100% of these items but they are a ton better than just flying blind.
